Every year, our stand designers reinvent themselves...

While the functional requirements for stand layouts remain similar, the constant drive for innovation guides the choices of this leading company in the cosmetic pigments sector. When designing their stands, one major rule applies: never do the same thing twice! This approach ensures that visitors are always surprised, immersing them in spaces that perfectly reflect the brand’s marketing goals.

SunChemical & PLUO: a partnership since 2018

Back then, we were neighbors! A mere 100-meter walk was all it took to reach the offices of the Belgium marketing team. And that’s how our journey with SunChemical’s Cosmetics division began.

Each year, they attend the same major event: the professional trade show In Cosmetics Europe, a must-attend international gathering for key players in the cosmetics industry, with editions rotating between Paris, Amsterdam, and Barcelona. Another key moment in their marketing calendar is Fi Europe, held in Frankfurt or Paris, which brings together major players in the food and beverage ingredients sector.

Even the merger with BASF and the relocation of their marketing team to Germany didn’t create distance between us. Across borders, we have continued to co-create stands that make a lasting impact.

In-cosmetics: organizing stands into true meeting hubs

At international trade shows, visitors experience more than just custom-built stands. These spaces become true meeting hubs, welcoming clients and prospects from around the world. While the core layout remains consistent—featuring five discussion areas, demonstration tables for product testing, a semi-enclosed meeting room, a bar, and a storage area—each edition unveils a brand-new atmosphere, carefully designed to align with the brand’s communication strategy.

In-cosmetics 2022, a vibrant stand design

The goal of this exhibition stand design was clear: to highlight the company's position as a leader in color innovation within the cosmetics industry.

This stand was designed to support the launch of an annual product campaign covering four market segments: skincare, color cosmetics, body cleansers, and personal care.

Each area was dedicated to a specific segment, featuring original and interactive product displays. A major highlight was the photobooth activation, cleverly integrated into a giant makeup box, which was a huge success.

The stand layout at this professional trade show was more enclosed than usual, providing additional discussion areas—an essential adaptation to the COVID-related precautions at the time.

In-Cosmetics 2023, a greener message

SunChemical’s marketing goal was to highlight its range of natural pigments.

The stand’s concept was designed to subtly evoke nature and sustainability. A design that successfully captivated visitors, who were impressed by the brand’s commitment to reimagining beauty through an ecological lens.

In-Cosmetics 2024, a stand concept inspired by softness

For this edition, SunChemical wanted to emphasize the delicacy of their pigments.

The stand’s design was centered around warmth and softness, offering a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. From the walls to the floors, including the furniture, everything was designed with smooth curves, forming a cocoon that invited visitors to explore the brand’s innovations.

In-Cosmetics 2025: a bold, flashy, and impactful concept

Unveiling on April 8 in Amsterdam… A stand that promises an explosion of vibrant and daring colors, reflecting SunChemical’s dynamic innovation and pioneering vision.

Custom, modular, and sustainable stands

With the exception of furniture, lighting, and a few specific decorative elements, all our stand structures are modular and therefore reusable, contributing to a more sustainable approach.

Through our partnership with Aluvision and their structural solutions, we have the ability to create fully customized stand designs, as showcased by the curved shapes featured in the 2024 stand. This high-end modularity allows us to design tailor-made, impactful stands.

Since circularity is at the heart of PLUO’s mission, our modular stand structures can be reused by other clients or at different trade shows, extending their lifecycle and reducing environmental impact. The printed fabrics we use are also designed to be reusable or recyclable. Additionally, our furniture is stored in our warehouses and can either be reused as is or adapted with different finishes to meet the specific needs of each event.

Embracing change: a new partnership dynamic with SunChemical

This year, we are thrilled to expand our collaboration to SunChemical’s Graphic division, based in Barcelona.

Impressed by our creativity, this division made the bold decision to switch from their usual event stand builder—despite their high-quality service—to embark on a new journey with us.

We have designed an entirely new creative concept that we are excited to unveil in March 2025 at the European Coating Show in Nuremberg. This concept will also be adapted for other major events, including Fespa in Berlin, Labelexpo in Barcelona, and K Online in Düsseldorf.

A big thank you to SunChemical for daring to innovate, take risks, and challenge our creativity—values we share and that allow us to grow together.
